11 miles road pacing Deanne to first marathon finish!
Mile 25 of the Colorado Marathon |
I normally look at road running as a day missed out for a good trail run. I must admit though that a marathon event still carries a lot of excitement for me. I'm a little curious to see what I could do, but I'm in no rush to go sign up for 26 miles of pavement pounding anytime soon. It sounded like Greyrock got pretty well tackled by the FCTR on Saturday. Congrats to Pete for completing the full 6 pack!
Congrats to her on the marathon finish!
ReplyDeleteHow the heck do you post at 23:30 but finish long runs before sunrise???!
Sleep deprivation is part of the 100-mile training plan.
ReplyDeleteLooks like your training is going well. Tell Deanne congratulations on her first marathon! It was a good day.
ReplyDeleteHi Rob,
ReplyDeleteI'm one of the co-directors of the Black Hills 100 (and an acquaintance of Mike's, which is how I found your blog). Very cool that you'll be joining us in June. If you have any questions about the course or anything else to do with the race, fire away. Looks like you're getting some solid training in. Trail runs with some decent elevation change are good prep....the BH100 doesn't have legendary climbs, but it does go up and down a lot.
I ran the Colorado Marathon a few years ago, hoping for a BQ. The downhill on pavement destroyed my quads by mile 15. It wasn't pretty.
Thanks Chris! I look forward to meeting you up there and taking in what looks to be a beautiful course.
