Another Sunrise

I think I have watched close to 100 sunrises this year from a trail or mountain somewhere.  This morning from Coyote Ridge.  Hopefully, my body will adapt to the late 6am start from Sturgis on Saturday.  It would be great to watch Sunday's sunrise from the finish line.  Oh well, it's time to see what I learned from Bighorn last year.

My furry friends.

  1. That is awesome. What time do you go to bed?
I once (and repeatedly) thought about getting up to see every sunrise for a year, at least from my house...and can't even do that a few dozen times. Amazing that you're doing it from a trail!

Best of luck at Black Hills, looks like you're ready!

  2. Bedtime is not early enough. I think this past week has been more about getting extra sleep than resting and healing up the body. When are you moving back to the Fort?

  4. Rob, have a great race in the Black Hills. All your hard training and early mornings will surely pay off and you will run well. I can't wait to read the full report about your outstanding race. I'm sure you'll be done before the sun comes up Sunday.

  6. Much tougher course than expected (and 105 miles long). Got er' done in 31:22. Only around 30 finished out of 100 starters. Report to come.

  7. Congrats Rob and thanks for coming! It was great to meet you. Looking forward to your full report and your thoughts, both positive and negative. We heard the "tougher than I thought" comment a lot, which is something we suspected we'd hear. We also heard from multiple people that the 100 course was actually 102-105, but nothing about the 50M or 100K courses being long. It's something we'll definitely look in to for next year. Along with better weather:).
